What a weekend!

Fabulous weekend with fabulous people! The show "Boxing Clever' seemed to go down well with many favourable comments. A couple of slip ups on the Friday due to unexpected happenings but otherwise silky smooth! Difficult to get into anguish/ misery/ mourning mode with so many having a good time! Play started with laughter and ended with people grabbing their tissues as Beth says goodbye to her husband. With so much hard work gone into this it will be a sad night next Saturday when its all over. Still, there's always the after show party!

Waveney Valley Blog: Boxing Clever, A Plethora of Plays - EyesWrite event

Boxing Clever

Opening night tonight - had a good lay in this morning so hopefully all should go well!
Am looking forward to performing at the Headmaster Porter Theatre - Been there a couple of times before when performing in a musical & watching the greatness that is Sig & Serv's Storybook.
People have been put off by the fact that the plays surround a coffin but it isn't always used as such!
As for me, I play a widow trying to explain to her son why "Dad" acted the way he did and that he loved the son very much but didn't know how to tell him.
It's set in Teeside in the early 70's and I am playing Beth who is in her late fifties so very little make up & hair left as it is and of course, wearing black.
We've rehearsed away from the other plays so it was a relief when it seemed to go down well at the dress rehearsal.
Love you all

As for this year.....

Not been a bad old year so far. Office worker on Luther II, drunken bus passenger for Home Office, and a part in a B&Q Commercial. Back to Suffolk for this next week to complete 6 shows in surrounding areas. Playing an emotional wreck in 'Letting Go' - a widow who is talking to her son in front of the coffin which holds her husband. However, the ghost of the husband has quite a lot to say...or is it just the woman's imagination? Great part to play especially with EyesWrite which bring professional & non professional (actors and writers) together.
Already booked for another play in June so it will be down with these lines & up with the new asap!
Also putting together a monologue from Letting Go for an audition piece - which looks like it will work incredibly well.
Right, off for a coffee and a Danish!

February 2011 - Living the Dream!

Very pleased that I have managed to find my Blog after all this time! Very funny looking back on whats been written so far. But lets see now, what have I done since February last year?
Several shows including Bentwater Roads with Eastern Angles who I am eternally grateful for their acting classes.
A Reason for Murder - played cockney tart with a heart - short skirt and very low top!
Photos for A Farmers Life for Me - Yes, I'm the one with the caption - "Some things get better with age" well, I'm not going to disagree with that one am I?
Background: Jimmy's Farm. I'm not even going to discuss that one.
Test ad for Ryvita - good fun, great people.
Barclays Corporate - playing an executive being chased by bears & bulls!
Not too bad for an old girl!!
